Arte Celebrates Youth and Hispanic Heritage 

Every year during Hispanic Heritage Month, ARTE Inc. enlivens New Haven with a full slate of events that showcase the community's vibrant Latinx culture.

ARTE has delivered again in 2022 with a full slate of art shows, dancing, educational workshops and forums. See the complete 2022 event listing.

The autumn celebration is part of the nonprofit's larger mission to cultivate and promote Latino art, culture, and education. Founded in 2004 by David Greco and Daniel Diaz, ARTE has developed numerous programs, exhibits, cultural events, workshops, and art shows, including the New Haven Public Schools annual Student Art Exhibit.

Hundreds of middle-school youth have taken part in ARTE's after-school and weekend programs, like the successful SLATE program, which teaches youth vital "Life & Social Skills". Graduates from SLATE qualify for an educational trip to Puerto Rico. ARTE is committed to providing enrichment and education that can open the door to social mobility for disadvantaged youth who lack opportunities. ARTE's programs are open and available to all youth, not just Latino youth.

ARTE has also awarded over $80,000 in scholarships.

The Progreso Latino Fund, a component fund of The Community Foundation, is a sponsor of ARTE's work.
