Fernando Muñiz Appointed to Community Foundation Board of Directors

New Haven, Conn. (December 18, 2019) - The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the region's charitable endowment and largest grantmaker, announces that Fernando Muñiz of New Haven, CT has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Muñiz will begin a seven-year term on January 1, 2020, replacing outgoing member Alicia Caraballo.

Muñiz has a long career in child welfare, juvenile justice and public administration. He is the CEO of Community Solutions, Inc., which provides community-based services including juvenile justice, child welfare, and criminal justice programs. Muñiz worked for more than a decade at the Dept. of Children and Families, most recently serving as deputy commissioner. Muñiz is also a member of the Progreso Latino Fund Advisory Committee, and is a former chair of the committee.
